Foundation Update
After an amazing 77 years, the Medina Foundation Trustees have made the decision to sunset the Foundation in the next 3-5 years. This decision comes after much reflection, assessment, and future planning. It is not a decision that was made lightly.
2025 will be the last year of the Foundation’s regular grantmaking process. We will also spend the bulk of the year researching and planning for how best to achieve the greatest impact, and we look forward to identifying meaningful projects that will make a lasting difference. We understand that this will bring up questions, and we don’t know all the answers yet.
Given this decision, we will be prioritizing our current grantees in 2025. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we chart a path forward.

About Medina Foundation
Medina Foundation is a family foundation that works to foster positive change in the Greater Puget Sound area.
In honoring the vision of our founder, Norton Clapp, the Medina Foundation aspires to improve lives by granting primarily general operating funding to human service organizations that provide direct support to Puget Sound residents.
Today, the family continues Norton Clapp's legacy by funding innovative organizations that approach tough problems with new ideas and solutions, as well as proven programs that have been meeting the needs of the community for many years.
We know that deep racial inequities exist in every area that Medina funds. We are committed to our own learning and to supporting our nonprofit partners that provide critical services and work tirelessly to dismantle systemic racism. We also know that people who are most affected by an issue are often the ones who can best see solutions, so we strive to fund organizations that share that belief.
